Through our resources, news and event postings we offer entrepreneurs along with small and medium enterprises working in the sustainability sector a network to connect into. Our members are working together to create a more sustainable world and we are proud to help them develop and grow.

Member Benefits

All members of the SMARTNet Alliance receive exclusive benefits including invites to members only events, insights into funding opportunities, access to member only resources, and the ability to work with fellow members on projects across the sustainability sector. We also offer a number of services to our members including payroll management, mentorship and help with marketing and promotion.

What are the membership fees or dues?

There are no fees or dues beyond your own sweat equity, drive, desire, and the discipline to make things happen.

Who can become a member?

Anyone who wants to start their own business, or who already has a small to medium size businesses can join and who shares our vision and is actively working in the sustainability sector.

Will you provide funding for my new business?

We do not explicitly fund any businesses or start ups. We can however connect you to various government organizations that offer grants and loans to those working in the sustainable field. We work with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) along with various governmental organizations and are constantly on the lookout for funding opportunities for our members.

What other support do you provide for your members?

Along with connecting you to our network of like minded businesses we offer business coaching, mentorship and payroll services to our members and their companies. We also offer a hot desk area to those members working in the Ottawa area. We also offer our members the chance to connect with consumers during our events such as Green Drinks and the annual SMARTNet Sustainability Showcase.
